Things to do Rincón del Sella
At El Rincón del Sella you can enjoy quality family time in the recreation area, the children’s playground, enjoy apple cider during your visit to our cider cellar. From the same property one can take a walking route along the bank of the Sella River and to the La Rozada recreational learning center. A 1km walk down a beautiful nature path will lead you to the village of Collera. If you’re lucky, you may catch a glimpse of the traditional game of “los bolos” (bowling) along the way. Only 1.5 km away you’ll find the picturesque town of Ribadesella, which is a prized tourist attraction.
Almost any adventure activity can be organized through local agencies. These activities include kayaking/canoeing down the Sella River, quad trips, paintball and canyoning. The unique natural landscapes and topography of Asturias also makes it an ideal place to practice mountain biking, trekking, geo-catching and horseback riding.
If you’re looking for more of an adrenaline rush, you might want to try jet-skiing along the coast or rappelling down Ribadesella’s coastal cliffs.

For children
During summer holidays and festival seasons, Ribadesella hosts a large number of events especially for children. These include street entertainment, workshops, performances and games. Every week Tito Bustillo (Cave Art Center) offers workshops for kids explaining how to a build fire, cave painting, hunting and primitive fishing techniques.
If you’re travelling with children, the Museo Jurásico (Jurassic Museum) in Colunga should be a mandatory stop, as this region is famous for its prehistoric history. They may also enjoy the Aquarium in Gijón and the examples of flora and fauna of the Picos de Europa National Park, found in the Covadonga Lakes’ visitor’s area.

Travelling with a group of friends?
An extremely popular activity choice is to canoe down the Sella River. We are happy to organize these trips for you. At around 10am, a local company will pick you up from El Rincón del Sella and take you to Arriondas, where they will provide you with all necessary equipment and a picnic lunch. From there your 4-hour adventure will begin. Once you’ve completed the down-river trip to Ribadesella, they will take you back to the cottage. After a shower and some freshening up, we’ll take a tour of the cider cellar, where you will be given a couple of bottles of our refreshing homemade cider to accompany a barbecue of delicious Asturian meats to help you get your strength back after the day’s workout.
You can spend your evenings walking along the elegant port and boardwalk of Ribadesella, enjoying tasty local dishes at one of the many “sidrerías” (cider houses) — and perhaps a cocktail or two afterwards to soak up the maritime atmosphere.
